How Tempo thinks

Not all tasks are equal.
Tempo knows the difference.

Every task belongs to one of four categories. Each category has its own rules for what happens when your day gets too full.

๐Ÿ”’

Non-Negotiable

Fixed commitments that never move. Appointments, deadlines, meetings โ€” everything else works around them.

โšก

Identity Habit

Daily practices you're building. On hard days, they compress to a minimum โ€” but they never silently disappear.

๐Ÿ”„

Flexible Task

Work that matters but has room to move. Tempo finds the next genuinely free slot and reschedules automatically.

๐ŸŽฏ

Optional Goal

Nice-to-haves that step aside gracefully when the day is full. No guilt, just deferred.

Add a task. Tempo handles the rest.

01

Schedule your day

Add tasks, habits, and goals to a clean hourly timeline. Tap any slot to create a task right there. Set tasks as recurring and Tempo generates instances automatically.

02

Life happens

An urgent task drops in. An event runs long. Something demands your time. Tempo detects the conflict the moment it's created.

03

Tempo proposes a resolution

Based on priority, Tempo suggests how to resolve the conflict โ€” moving the lower-priority item to the next free slot, up to 7 days out. You approve. Nothing moves without your say.

04

Habits are preserved

Daily habits can compress on packed days โ€” showing up for 10 minutes still counts. Weekly habits move to a valid day. Optional goals step aside. Your non-negotiables never budge.

Built in the open.
Shaped by the community.

Tempo is open source under GPL-3.0. The scheduling logic, conflict resolution, and habit preservation rules are all readable, forkable, and improvable. We're building toward a conversational AI assistant on top of this foundation.
